How To Use Service Specific Scheduling

By default, your calendars operate in a catch-all mode. Meaning, every service you add is automatically bookable on all calendars. However, if you want to be more specific, you can select which services can be booked on which calendars. For instance, say a staff resource can’t provide a certain advanced service without training, or a room or vehicle resource can only be booked for certain services, procedures or rental rates. In this case, you would want to assign specific services to specific calendars and not use the default catch-all mode. This can also eliminate staff error from scheduling services for resources that cannot. To turn on Service Specific Scheduling, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the “Settings” tab and go to “Software Setup”
  2. Click on “Calendars & Resources”
  3. At the bottom of the page you will find a checkbox to turn on Service Specific Scheduling with an explanation of the feature
  4. Now, as you will see in the video, when you go to edit service menu items there is an option to choose a resource. This is where you will select which calendars that service is able to be booked on.
